Yesterday
seen more than 50 drivers tackle the khanacross and motorkhana in
very dusty conditions, yes even after more than 30mm of ran 2 days
before the complex was very dry but the track was also very hard
and stood up to the conditions and traffic very
well.
Tristan
Penhall (Subaru WRX) backed up the previous khanacross win with
another round win. Brendon Paynting having his first drive in his
newly acquired Subaru WRX was closely behind in second with Scott
Innes in aother WRX in third. In total there were 13 drivers
competing in AWD Subaru's this made it tough competition for the
championship contenders. Craig Hardiman, who cannot be beaten, had
a bad start, having a detour on hs second run costing him more than
20 second, this left him back in 8th overall, John Hardiman and
Gary Doherty both struggled in the conditions also finishing down
the order.
Class
B Honors went to John Strauch after a battle with Team Skyline
team mate Dean Smith in 10th and 1th overall
Class A seen
Daryl King in 6th outright in his Toyota Corolla.
In the
juniors Lewis Penhall (Subaru WRX) pushed the senior runner all day
finishing in 4th outright.
Renee
Larter, also driving a Subaru WRX, was the best of the ladies in
5th outright while Natasha Gill-Symons (Datsun 1600) was the best
placed junior lady.
Once again
the dads showed the way in the motorkhana with Peter Panozzo
(Datsun 1600) leading home Peter Thomas (Nissan Pulsar) and
Jimmy Gill (Datsun Stanza). Craig Thomas (Nissan Pulsar) extented
his lead in the junior championship by taking the junior section
ahead of Luke Farrar (Nissan Pulsar) and Harley Gill (Nissan
Stanza). Natasha Gill-Symons in one of the BCC junior cars was
the best placed lady ahead of Tammy Gill (Datsun Stanza) and
Jessica Farrar (Nissan Pulsar).
